Butterfly Parade

Pacific Grove, otherwise known as Butterfly Town U.S.A., has an annual butterfly parade each October celebrating the arrival of the real monarch butterflies that migrate here in massive amounts each winter. All the elementary children dress up as various creatures and people for the parade and the kindergartners dress as the coveted butterflies. Gavin had the opportunity to be a butterfly. Linnea was the cutest pioneer that you ever saw. Some of the classes were sea otters, jelly fish, clowns, and more. It was so fun and this year the whole community was involved--even the middle and high schools were involved in a great band competition and carnival/bazaar afterward. Great fun!
