Lightening Bolts

I went with Gavin to a children's clothing boutique and he saw this shirt and wanted it. He really wanted one for Micah too so they could be twins. I had them special made to match and now every time I put it on Micah, Gavin runs to find his so they can be twins. It's cute...my boys. Now if we can get Jacen to wear one... Don't think I'll hold my breath on that one.

Cars and Baskets

Can I just say...Micah is SO cute!
I love watching him pick up all the cars (or any other group of small items) and put them in his bucket. Then he puts them one by one in his basket. Then he puts them one by one back in his bucket. It reminded me of Jacen when he was one and two and would line up the cars ever so carefully and when he was done, would start all over, lining them up ever so carefully.

Micah also loves to walk around the house collecting shoes, papers, small toys, and kitchen gadgets to carefully store in his port-a-crib. He gets quite the collection all put away in there!

Someday My Prince will Come...

So.... today we were driving in the car and the song, "Someday My Prince will Come" from Snow White started playing on the cd.

Gavin: I don't like this song.
Mom: What don't you like about it?
Gavin: I don't like her voice or her words."
Mom: You know, someday you are going to be some girl's prince.
Gavin (while wrinkling his little nose the whole time): Well, that will be in a long, long time... Like when I'm 55!

Stepin' Up

Albert and I have thus far slept on a full size bed and been grateful for that. Even when we bought a new bed two years ago, we bought a full size because something bigger would not have possibly fit into our tiny room (a sacrifice that comes with living in paradise). Just lately we had begun dreaming of a bigger bed and then the opportunity arose for us to have a nearly new California king size bed that had belonged to my great uncle from Fresno. We were elated! And along with that came a new beautiful bedroom set--something beyond even our wildest dreams!
I found a bedding set that I fell in LOVE with from Anthropologie but it was pretty pricey as you can imagine. Is it my fault I have great (albeit expensive) taste? BUT I found one almost identical at Target (Shabby Chic) for a quarter of the price and it included shams! Albert says it looks girly, but, hey, that's what happens when you share a room with a girl, which he doesn't usually complain about. (;
I feel so grown up!

I love this cute little vintage chair that Jacen picked up from Uncle Les' house as well.

Perfect Beach Day

Yesterday was such a warm day, we just had to go to the beach. I have been avoiding taking Micah since he started walking because I thought I'd have to chase him around the beach but he was surprisingly content to sit and play in the sand and water!

Linnea and Micah

Gavin relaxing

Thanks to Brenna's advice, we dug a hole for Micah to stand in. He loved it.

Doesn't the water look nice? I bet it's refreshingly warm and inviting.... looks can be deceiving. We aren't in Florida! Their were actually a lot of people swimming yesterday though.

It was such a nice day at the beach...I miss relaxing on the beach. Welcome summer.

Micah Beckham is ONE

Micah turned ONE!
We were a couple of weeks celebrating because his real birthday fell on the other kid's last day of school and the day we were going out of town visiting family.
He still thoroughly enjoyed his party and didn't even complain about it being late.

He's not sure what everyone is making such a big deal about while we are all singing to him.

He notices the candle and really likes that! (Just wait until he tastes what is under it!)

What is this thing?

This is pretty good!

Ice Cream!! That's what I'm talking about... and who needs a spoon?

Present time!

Aunt Tera, cousins and Great Grampa brought such fun presents!

He loved the balloons and tried to figure out how to hold them all at once.

Don't you just love his hair!

The next morning, first thing, he went into the living room to play with his new presents.

Dallin loves a party! (Tera's son)

Micah is such a joy in our home!! We don't know how we would live without him. He seems to have a very content nature. He's quiet and simply likes to take in his surroundings but he also sometimes loves to play and laugh. When he hears music he loves to dance. He loves playing with Jacen, Linnea and Gavin. He's a momma's boy and often only mama will do. He walks and even runs all over the house and loves finding the toilet seat left up, much to my dismay! On that note, he simply loves all water. He loves to go outside and for long walks. He loves reading books too.

At the party, we each wrote a letter to Micah that we put into a time capsule. We will open it on his 15th birthday. It was fun to write to him about what he's like now and to speculate on what he'll be like when he's 15. It was fun to note how old we would all be then too. Jacen realized he would be 28 and probably be starting a family of his own.

Happy Birthday Micah!!

Big Red Barn

We went out to the Spencer Family's Big Red Barn to have a celebration and say goodbye to dear friends moving away. It's always a fun place to visit.

Micah and his great-grandpa Neufeld
Micah isn't sure about someone other then mommy holding him but it's still a sweet picture.

Pony drawn carriage rides. At this point though, the pony was taking a break and Leif's wife's brother was pulling the carriage. (:Micah is so very cute just pitter-pattering around the grassy trails.

Albert, Barry and John just hanging out.

Micah loves the ponies
